Another classic! These are the fattest, phattest (oh yes, I did) chocolate chunk cookies in all the land. These are the ones you dream about, the ones you remember making with Grandma…or at least wish you’d made with Grandma. They’re HUGE and chocolatey, each the perfect sweet mix of soft, crisp and of course, chewy. Best with a tall glass of cold milk…er, soymilk.
1 c Butter, softened
1 c Brown Sugar
1/2 c Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 1/2 c + 2 Tbs Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
2 c Semi-sweet Chocolate Chunks
Preheat oven to 350. Cream together the butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla extract. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture a little at a time, mixing just until well-combined. Stir in chocolate chunks.
Drop dough by fat scoops (somewhere around a mounded 1/4 cup) onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 12-15 minutes, just until edges are golden. For smaller cookies, drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets and bake about 8-10 minutes.
Yield: About 15 cookies well-suited to giants or 40 more fit for humans of average stature
